Trying Another H4 LED bulb

First off  i am not a big fan of these replacement H4 led headlight bulbs
I very much like the purpose made LED head light assemblies like the one I had on the R65 until I moved over to the R1150R
They are not cheap for a good one
Fitting a 7 inch headlight to the BMW bucket requires and adapter ring or a complete new bucket.
So I decided to try another H4LED bulb
The first one I had only lasted about 9 months or 6000 miles
 I don't tour on the R65 anymore and I do have a set of LED floods as a back up so at least I should be OK if it fails 
This is what I got from Super bright LED
Part Number: H4-HLV7-M
It fit just fine in the original bucket and reflector
 I have also removed the baffle that sits in front of the bulb 
 I only  road it up and down the street and it looked OK
As soon as the weather breaks I will  go for a night ride and let everyone know

The first picture is the first one I had
second picture is the one I have now
I have noticed that most of the newer bulbs have 4  diodes now  that point out to the sides
The first one had a decent pattern
I think the newer one so far as i can tell is better   
The bottom picture is of the JW speaker 8700 I had on it
Great light and will last a very long time but pricey  (10X as much)

That's the same LED bulb I've had in since October 2019 

It fits my R65 fine (only lights wiring in the headlight bucket). Cutoff is good for oncoming traffic. Not had any heating/peeling etc problems. I've been out quite a lot after dark but 1 hour at a time max. It's a white light but not annoyingly blue. I bought a pair just in case.

how did you mount it in the bucket. If you plug it in it would seem to be flopping around inside the bucket??

I tried a cheap led bulb in mine with a fan on the end and it fell apart, so i now have a Stedi led bulb with the small leds on the side it produces a much better light and pattern. I think it was $70

The bulb assembly mounts into the reflector just like a standard H4 bulb
The inside of the headlight bucket is not as full of wires as the older bikes, So the pig tail and heat sink did fit inside with a little effort

They are coming out with new designs all the time
Hopefully they are getting better and more reliable
I know the earliest ones were complete junk
I would definitely fuse the head light circuit when using these
From the factory the head light circuit is not fused at all
 Neither is is most of the rest of the wiring 
You never know what kind of electrical magic may be lurking inside one of these just waiting to go bad
