Flashing LED Brake Light
« on: January 08, 2009, 06:36:31 PM »
I just purchased a LED taillight with modulator from Road Rocketeer previously BRAKE brand.  I have a BRAKE LED taillight on my R1200GS and have been very pleased.  BRAKE sold out to Road Rocketeer within the past year.  Road Rocketeer has been expanding there line of replacement LED taillights.  This is how they describe the light I purchased  "FITS BMW R100RS/RT, R100/7 AND OTHER DUAL-BULB AIRHEADS | Features include: • 24 LEDs • Simple plug-in connection • 4 function brake light modulator • White LED license plate light"  My GS BRAKE light also has 24 of the same type LEDs and is extremely bright (per the folks who have ridden behind me).  These lights plug directly into the old bulb socket, no wiring required.  I will give you an update once I have received and installed the unit.  It is not cheap $135.

I recommend you wire it direct on the airheads.  Their light socket is notorious for becoming loose.

About 6 years ago, I had a neighbor yell me down right after leaving the house one day.  I had no tail light or brake light!

Easy fix - remove lens, reseat bulb, replace lens.

After the third time, I called Rick at Moto Electrik and picked up a Beacon 2.  I love it.  $59.95

I have since added Hyperlites.  Love them, too. :)
