What's the difference between "tire" talc and any other talc?

None of the parts stores around here have "tire" talc. I could proably find some "regular" talc. Can I just use "regular" talc.

I would imagine that "tire talc" would just be an unscented additive free talcum powder...

A quick search shows NAPA carries it in their Balkamp brand under part number BK7651339.

I use the baby-powder scented stuff when changing the tubes on all my bicycles.   Either scented or unscented can do the same job.  Just don't forget to put it back in the bathroom and don't forget to wipe the greasey fingerprints off the container or you will have an angry wife.

Whose sweet smelling butt are we talking about? Ooooh... An ugly mental image. :-?

And after you've dusted the interior of the tires, be sure to apply some scented hand lotion to the tire's tread. It'll soften those hard edges, erase age lines and heal cracking.

Tire talc Eh? I KNOW  what you have been reading. If you haven't already, check some bicycle shops near you. Not the department store ones but the high end shops selling the $3000 frames. They'll have some. Regular talc is fine but do try to use one without any additional scent or soothing stuff in it, who knows what that stuff is? In a pinch corn starch works as well.
