  • Still Crazy After All These Years....
Central Texas
« on: October 09, 2017, 09:48:37 AM »
Friday I played hooky from school and packed up Emmie Lou and took off for College Station to spend the weekend with my daughter, other family and watch the Aggies put the hurt on 'Bama, which they did in so many ways, just didn't win the game.
The ol'girl performed flawlessly averaging 45 mpg and never missed a beat.
Sunday it was about 5 degrees cooler, which made for a nice morning, but by noon heading into the Coastal Bend it was pushing 90. I could really start to feel the heat coming off the jugs but she still purred like an angry kitten.  ;)  Averaged 47 mpg on this return trip but the best part was I pretty much owned the road; no traffic for most of the 270 miles! Only saw 5 other bikes.  :-?
Looking forward to a little cooler weather and more road time!!!

Glad you were able to get out and ride, Bill, I was stuck on the back porch with a saw and ladder...  :P

Really strange about the scarcity of bikes, I get that many passing behind the house in a 30 minute period!
