Riding Into History
« on: May 09, 2014, 09:31:54 AM »
This event is coming up next weekend May 16-17. It is a remarkable collection of beautifully restored (or not) motorcycles. If anyone is near enough to attend it is worth your time.

My R65 is entered but since it is not a restoration it is entered in the custom category (much smaller). I don't stand a chance of winning but the entry is free and I get in a couple of hours before the general public so no crowds to fight to take pictures.

Fantastic day for this event. Previous days rain cleared overnight and left the day with blue skies, cool breeze and temps in the mid to upper 70's. Huge turnout as evidenced by the picture of the parking lot and all to benefit a charity that matches service and companion animals to returning veterans.

Plus lots of really cool bikes! Check out the photos. If you can't find at least one you like you probably don't have a pulse.

I have attached one picture to this post. Let's see who can correctly identify just what the heck it is!

Guzzi motor turned sideways and a chain final drive. Oh! It's a Frankenbike. Winner.

I stand humbled in your presence oh Mighty One. Looks like the first round will be on me.

The real question should have been, "Why?"
