The One Show
« on: February 09, 2014, 09:36:39 PM »
In spite of the inclement weather I made it to The One Show this year. I thought the build quality of the bikes was the best I have seen so far at any of these shows. I was also real happy to get to see the bike entered by Lowbrow Customs the makers of my favorite "Triumph Ride Wrench Repeat" t-shirt. Here is a slide show of some of the photos I took of the bikes as well as the latest in protective headgear.

I had 18" of snow between me and that show.  Thanks for sharing the pics!

I'm going to the OVM banquet next Sat., then up to Seattle for the motorcycle show up there.  I'm traveling with some friends from the Salem area.

I got to meet DavidPDX at the OVM dinner Sat. night, and won a door prize as usual.  I'm innately suspicious, so when David asked "Are you Ed Miller?" I wasn't sure.

Ed had a look on his face like I was going to serve him papers or something when all I really wanted to do was shake his hand. First person from the forum that I have met in person. Good banquet and interesting presentation on the "new" Norton.

Gary Newby was talking about another R65er but I haven't seen him in years.  At one point he had 3 R65s.  Right now I can't even remember his name!  Frustrating.  He was a lot younger than us, and lived in the Portland area.

Some nice bikes there, especially the Triumphs!  However, I don't understand why the people who build these "one-off" models choose to leave off the fenders!  To me, whenever I see one of these bikes and it's missing one or both fenders, it just distracts me.  All I can think about is, "They left off the fender again!"   ::)

I like the fenderless look, but the trouble is I ride my bikes all year.  I even have full fenders on my commuting bicycle.
