UK members might be interested in this e-mail I received. It's a small show and usually there are only a few bikes. but it might be of interest to Aviation enthusiasts.
Dear Classic & Historic Vehicle Enthusiast,
This year The Aviation Society (TAS) annual Manchester Airport Aviation and Transport Festival is to be held at the Runway Visitor Park (RVP) on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July 2014.
The Aviation Society are pleased to invite you, your organisation and any of your friends and contacts with interesting vehicles to attend this year’s Aviation & Transport Festival.
Participating with a Classic or Historic Vehicle is even easier than in previous years, as there is no charge for Classic & Historic Vehicles attending and no application forms are required, just advise me by e-mail of the number of vehicles attending on each day.
For 2014 we have simplified the arrangements for admission to the Runway Visitor Park and Indoor Areas.
Members of the public attending will be charged a fixed admission fee per head, which will include both parking and admission to the Indoor Areas of the Festival, this fee will be collected upon arrival at the RVP.
Classic and Historic Vehicle owners ( and your support vehicles if you are a Club) will be admitted FREE OF CHARGE.
Before you reach the payment point you will be met by one of the TAS "Meet & Greet" team and given a windscreen sticker for your vehicle which will provide FREE OF CHARGE admission to both the Runway Visitor Park and the Indoor Areas of the Festival, so it is no longer necessary for you to get your Car Park Tickets and hands stamped.
What we can offer to Classic & Historic Vehicle owners is:-
• Free admission to the site and parking for all participating vehicles, their drivers and passengers.
• Free admission to the Indoor Areas of the Aviation & Transport Festival
• Dedicated areas for Historic & Classic Vehicles.
• A trophy for the most meritorious Historic & Classic Vehicle
• A very interesting 2 days with lots of items of interest to you and your family.
• An opportunity to see and photograph the worlds largest airliner, the Airbus A380, and also the worlds newest airliner, the Boeing 787 ‘Dreamliner’.
• A programme of short visits to Concorde is available at extra cost.
What we cannot guarantee is that the weather will be as warm as it was last year !.
If you have attended any of the previous Aviation & Transport Fairs you will know what a great weekend it will be, in a relaxed atmosphere with lots of things to see and do.
If you have already confirmed your attendance to me, please ignore this e-mail, for those of you who have not already confirmed their attendance to me, please e-mail me with details of how many vehicles will be participating each day.
Best Regards
