Barber Vintage 2012
« on: October 15, 2012, 04:09:58 PM »
Another fantastic visit to Alabama and the 8th Barber Vintage Festival.

The museum is world class. The Swap Meet is huge and always a hoot. AHRMA road racing on the beautiful Barber Motorsports track should not be missed.

Circulating on track mounted on their famous racers were Gene Romero, Paul Smart, Alan Cathcart, Scott Russell and Jason DiSalvo.

Spotted a couple bikes from this year's 2012 Cannonball Coast-to-Coast event.

Norm Nelson's #23 1929 BMW R-11 scored perfect points yet took Second Place in Class I.

The #3 1927 BSA ridden by Buck Carson was a DNF but the bike's owner, Jim Crain aboard race #42, another 1927 Beezer, took First Place in Class I.

Of course! Looking to buy an accessory flash unit that will throw out a bit more light than the small, pop top camera unit. Love the camera, John.

Taking the D3000 to the Harvest Classic in Luckenbach this weekend.

Can't wait to see more pics!
(If you see any good looking R26s or R27s there, get a couple of pics, OK?  That's the vintage BMW I would buy if I were rich and famous!)   ;)

Here's a link to about a dozen Barber snaps. More later but not enough time yet to get 'em all uploaded.

John, be sure and check out the Japanese copy of the BMW R-26. If you plan to steal someone's design, at least pick the best!

Looking for an R26. This looks like a good deal.  http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/mcy/3339889642.html
Keep your bike in good repair: motorcycle boots are not comfortable for walking.

I was in Lot D with the dirt bike reprobates.  Did the trials again.  Finished well down in the field on the Montesa but at least I finished.   ::)

OK, Crenshaw. You reading this. Time to prep the TY250 so it'll be ready when your knee is, too.

I'll walk the sections with you. All you gotta do is plod along, feet up on the pegs. Easy Squeezy.

Bill, I'm sorry Lynn and I didn't get over to the Trials area. Bengt Phorqs Crenshaw and I enjoyed it last trip. I really enjoyed the big Brit thumper singles cleaning sections at no more than a fast idle speed. Way cool.
