Zippered Harley guy
« on: September 10, 2011, 04:01:24 PM »
Lynn and I rode out to a favorite barbecue joint for a Saturday lunch. Clark's Outpost is very popular with cage and bikers riding up from the MetroMess. Tioga, Texas -originally known as Toadsuck- is the hometown of 'back in the day' cowboy singer and BW movie star, Gene Autry.

Anyway... Lynn and I are sipping some cool iced tea when in walks a fully latigoed and logoed HD rider still wearing his helmet. A big guy, he remains standing at his table while he removes each item of gear and stacks it on the table along with his backpack. Yeah, I know... backpack/ Harley rider.. just doesn't compute.
All the zippers are now released... including the fly on his blue jeans. Lotssa peeps noticed as we were all watching his "show". Fly Boy's buddy cues him in on his fashion faux pas. Dude left soon afterwards.

Difficult to keep the "tough guy" image working when you can't even dress yourself -HD-style.

Well, they normally don't wear helmets as they fear it will mess with their hair, hearing, etc.  Perhaps they don't believe in zipping the fly in case they will have need to perform an emergency urination.

Hopefully he was at least wearing underwear - but I wouldn't want to check. ;D

I remember my Harley riding cousin once told me: "Riding a helmet without a visor looks cool until a bug hits you in the face at 90mph."

More than once I've wished my Olympia phantom suit had a short cut to that area....

i kown what your saying - but stop in at A&S BMW on any Saturday morning - it looks like a reunion of retired presidents of Goldman Sachs - most have more money invested in their riding gear than i do in my R65 - I enjoy it around the HD guys for the most part - If shots are fired I just duc :o

Harley guys and BMW guys are not mutually exclusive.  My local dealer carries both Harley Davidson and BMW.  Never an issue between the two groups.  Also, some of the guys in my local BMW club also have Harleys -- again no real problem.  Sometimes there is just some good-hearted fun busting chops, but no seriousness intended.

Shouldn't you have called this thread "Unzippered Harley Guy"?
