Cool, congratulations.  No, I'm not going to get a matching one for my Triumph.  A 300 mile day just about cripples me.

Great pics! We have talked about the pegpacker from Best rest products to achieve more miles from these classic smaller tanks but this setup looks neat too. Just what is the type/name of that red gas container that can rest on its side and have only side filler caps???

If you have told me already, please forgive me. So what was the difference, if any, between when you had to stop for more gas and when your modern buddies had to stop?

Also, did you get any flack from any gas station filling up your "rear top case"!!!!

As we have discussed, Bill, it is simpler to set up an aux. gastank on a carb'd bike than on a FI one? So why is it that an "inside the gastank fuel pump" is such a widely used design in this day and age?...to me it sounds like it is just asking for trouble and making aux. fuel linking into the system that much more difficult. Completely against the 'KISS' theory.

My riding buddy David got his 1000 IBA license plate holder last year in the NEW England one. Tempting once but not now.
1983 R65LS - LRB still my favourite!? 1988 Honda NX250, "Toodles Too" and a Suzuki DR650, "Calypso." All stored in the "Brrrmmm Closet".

Hi Sue,

That is a typical fuel injection system design.  If the pump fails and start to leak, the leak is contained inside a tank.  If my pump fails and starts to leak, I become Flambus Vitesse Gumby.

So I think its the lawyers fault.

The tank was a 3 gallon boat tank that Tempo no longer makes.  It started seeping and I have thrown it away.  Another vitim of Ethanol.

(why did God give us ethanol - why?)
