Driving a car with no roof is like how it was riding bikes in the '70's - freedom. The guy on the bike has a helmet and is sweating it out in all the protective gear.

I like driving my NX Coupe with the targa roof out in summer....wish I could ride my bike again in the breeze....

Great phone camera pics, Aussie!  Beautiful lines on the AM DBR2.  Certain designs will always look good, even after a half century.  Not sure I'd want to be stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic during the heat of Summer in one though.  Can't be good for the engine.

Here's a shot of the front:

Oh my - jealousy has set in. And where did you find that little toy? Damn - those curves are just simply female in their appearance. Hard to decide which is better - the AM or the XKSS - and by the way did you know that an English company is making an XKSS lookalike? Branded as a Lynx it has an all synchromesh tranny used on the post '65 Jags. It's based on a standard E-type. Now I'm not sure - but I kinda assume that the AM is influenced by the XKSS. In the whole scheme of things the Lynx is a steal at about £110 000 - the original - if you can get your hands on one is about £500 000.

And you're right - to take a car such as that in city traffic is just asking for trouble in summer.

I pulled the picture off the net after "Googling" it.  And, Yes - very female-ish lines.  As long as guys continue to admire the female form, this will always have "curb appeal".

Ah, '50's race cars!  True classics, way more attractive than the angular flying wings of today, but even though they looked aerodynamic, they weren't, at all.  Many  [smiley=thumbup.gif]of them developed almost as much lift as a bad airplane wing!

Ed - you tease! I thought you must have gone to a motor show and was going to ask you for a picture of the the black AM - I THINK it's a DB4 or 5. Any AM experts out there?

I'll have to ask Commander Bond, the next time I see him.  He was always an AM fan.

Allred, you are quite right.  I couldn't believe how squirrelly my '71 Datsun 240Z, which looked very aerodynamic to me, became at much over 80 mph - it just felt like the front end was floating.  :o I had to install a new snout with built in air-dam, then the faster I went the more stable it became.
