It looks nice but I don't know what BSAs are going for.  He didn't mention the year that I saw, but the single leading front brake tells me it's '67 or older.  Hey, same machine H.S. Thompson rode in his book Hell's Angels!

I've always wanted a BSA to go along with the Bonneville. Also because it was the bike HST rode while writing "Hells Angels" It's a beauty and the price of old Britt stuff just seems to keep going up.

You're not kidding about the prices; I'm starting to get more paranoid about riding my Bonneville places, especially now that I've painted it and prettied it up.  When my insurance comes up due again I want to see how much it will be to add comrehensive coverage; all I've had all these years is liability.

You may want to contact Hagerty Insurance, about insurance for your British bike.

I tried to get collector insurance on the R65, and I was told, the bike has to be worth in excess of around $5000, so my R65 fell real short in that respect.

I've had Hagerty insure my '79 Trans Am for the last 5 years, and I am quite satisfied with them.

I'm not sure on any restrictions they may have on useage, but I don't think you put too many miles on it.

Just in case you don't know, non-collector insurance will only pay about what the Kelley Bluebook value is, unless you have an official appraisal on file with your insurance company, and have a set value incase of damage or total loss.

I wish their web site would spell out the limitations; all I could find was this:
"Flexible Usage. Drivers can enjoy their classics with comfortable limits. Our policy allows for an occasional leisure drive, not just to parades or car events."

I generally ride mine in nice weather to work and back home, a hundred miles a day, but not every day.  There are too many days summer or winter when I need the CRX to either haul stuff or so that I can park and go running after work.  Next January we'll all polish off our records and try for the annual mileage bragging rights; until then I don't know how many miles I put on either bike.  But I do know my car seems to be lasting a long time.   ;)

Hey that '66  Lightning looks correct except for the rocker cover.  I think the cover on that bike is the later fined type.  Wasn't the '66 a smooth dome covered rocker?  Easy fix.

Nice bike though I think the price is on the upper end.  Mono Block carbs et all....

Got Haggerty on the Firebird.  Did it online.
