Headed to see SCJJ Saturday.
« on: July 02, 2010, 11:17:56 PM »
He's still a might busted up and homebound, so I wanted to go for a visit. I figured if he's up to it, we could add some dark glasses to his cane, I would pose as his feeble-minded assistant (not far from the truth), then head to the local "gentlemen's club" with a pocket full of ones and see what happens. Could be interesting if the girls took pity on us!  ;)

Then again, I'd hate to see John get beaten by PM while he's already cripple up, or me get banned for life from the SCJJ household!!  :-[
I'll post a few pics if anything interesting happens, as long as JJ doesn't mind...

Good for you Steve!  I'm sure he will very much appreciate the company and having something different to do.  I'm sure PM will very much appreciate having someone else there to take care of SCJJ for a bit!   ;)

Make sure you say "HI!" from all of us.

Hey, all....

Well, Mr. Lehman did indeed travel to sunny SC, and we had a grand time!  To show you how nice a guy Steve is, I asked him if he could open a box containing a home entertainment center that Pattimarie bought to pu in the master bedroom to I could watch TV there while recuperating, and I wanted to see just how difficult it was going to be for her to assemble.  Steve got the instructions out and after we looked at them, he said, "Well, I don't think it would take long for me to put it together, if you want me to."

Since we had plenty of beer onhand, I agreed it was a do-able task.  As it turned out, it took quite a bit longer to assemble than either of us thought it would take.  Steve spent about 4 hours on Saturday, and then another 3 hours on Sunday to finish up the project.  I told him how much I appreciated his help, and that Pattimarie would also be very grateful as well, and Steve said, "Wait until she gets my bill!"

We thought it appropriate to document the finished project with a photo of Steve presenting his bill.  Worth EVERY penny!!!    ;)  Thanks, Steve!!    [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Good on ya, Steve! I notice you have in hand the primary -and proper- BMW repair tool.

I'm gonna bet your service-call bill, after being adjusted for the beer deductions, will show you owe John and PM around fifty bucks. Pay up, sucka. [smiley=beer.gif]

John, don't get too comfortable. Your honey-do list continues to grow.

Great idea Steve...just what the doctor ordered. Your just such a sweet guy! That was very, very nice of you...another reason this forum just works for everybody involved. Good friends. Hail fellow, well met!

Well, it seemed like once I'd picked up and opened that 400 pound box, and dumped 11,673 black fasteners of various shapes and sizes and 53 odd-sized pre-cut shelves all over John's bedroom floor, there was no turning back. It probably would have taken about as long to get everything back into the box as it did to put the thing together!  :o

But despite my initial pessimism, especially when I started having to glue dowels into place (no room for error there!), it actually turned out pretty good in the long run.
I'm just glad I didn't have to resort to using the big  hammer!   ;)

John, it looks like you had a wonderful weekend what with all the company and all.

Steve, that was great of you to do that.  Must have something to do with having an R65.  Once you get going on a project you just can't stop no matter how long it takes.   ;D

And I'm sure that Pattimarie [size=14]really [/size]appreciated you putting that together, especially after you'd dumped it all over the floor.   ;D  It's amazing how they can tell ya how easy it is to put those things together.    [smiley=furious3.gif]   [smiley=wall.gif]   [smiley=beerchug.gif]

That's a lot of cheap American labor for assembly.  I would have thought his bill would have been covered by beer.  Sounds like you guys need more power tools, too!
