In today's economy a lot of municipalities have found out that traffic tickets are a fast and easy way to increase revenue. Here in New York City they are enforcing a "don't block the box" law - $115 for blocking an intersection as the light turns red against you. Traffic is so heavy that it is sometines impossible to clear an intersection due to the congestion. The law was changed from calling it a moving violation (for which only police could give tickets) to a parking violation (for which the traffic officers could give tickets). in the last year they colleced over $11,000,000 in fines.  There is also a law on the books requiring that the mufflers be matched to the bike according to some sticker on the frame. Yeah - try to find original mufflers for a vintage bike!

Other states are adding outrageous court costs on top of the fines for the violation. Worse than that are the fees and increases in insurance costs for moving violations.

I don't have a good answer or good news as far as this is concerned.

For now I'm doing 25MPH in the 25MPH zones around town and keeping a careful watch for "Smokey" in my rear view mirror.

Good luck to all of us!!!
