Never had a ticket on a motorcycle.  Never have even been pulled over while riding.  Having said that I hope I haven't jinxed myself! :o

In forty-eight years of legal driving, no tickets for speeding in/on any vehicle...ever.

I do keep my eyes outside the cockpit and on a swivel. There's an old saying about aviation combat maneuvering that can also be applied to motorcycling; Whomever spots the enemy first, usually wins.

Never got one on a bike got one my only one about 15 years ago and i almost went to court to contest it as all the signs were obscured by overgrown trees but i figured it would cost too much if the judge didn't buy it.I have however successfully talked my way out of one when a cop gave up chasing a Jag in his ford focus and pulled me over instead i was 5 over the speed limit but had watched the chase behind me on the motorway as he chased the Jag down the slip road and gave up as the car showed a clean pair of heels.Sometimes it pays to point out the obvious bless him he folded his book and said you know what you are right.....you didn't get the guys number did you!!!

I don't dare say for fear that it may jinx me, but it is a low, non-0 number..

I've never had one on my bikes, though I speed every single day that I ride.  I was pulled over 11 times in the years 1987 (when I bought my Triumph) through 1991, when I moved back to Oregon from Washington, but never got a ticket because I wasn't doing anything.  How many times did they say they were looking for somebody else on a bike going the same way, dunno I lost count.  I haven't been pulled over since.  I have no idea what changed.

Maybe 3 tickets in cars, last one over 15 years ago.  I ride and drive like Monte describes.  When I do get a ticket I just pay it, it's not like I haven't earned it.   ;D

A friend told me that if you have a concealed weapons permit, that a cop alone won't pull you over...anybody heard that?  It would be a good reason to get one, though I don't have anything concealable.

Nope - I believe that CW permits don't buy one any extra "leverage" with Johnny Law.   Unless you are within your own state, or possibly county, they won't likely know whether you have a permit or not due to differences in databases.

I know of one person who showed his carry permit and his license to the traffic cop who pulled him over.   The traffic cop just asked him if he was currently carrying a weapon.    "No", was the response, and the ticketing procedure went ahead as normal.

I have a concealed carry permit - I don't show it unless asked by a policeman or game warden.  It has never gotten me any "favors" and I don't expect it to.

My around-town bike is an old Honda CB350 Four that I did up Cafe a few winters back. Its a great around town bike, really smooth & light. But when I modified the front end with clip-ons & a larger headlamp I didn't have room for both the speedo & tach..........so I bought a larger tach (from a CB750SS) and have been running sans speedo for quite a while.
That said, I was recently pulled over in a school zone & when the officer asked if I knew how fast I was going I told him 6000 rpm in second gear. He didn't think it was funny and wrote me my first ticket (ever recieved on a bike) for 33mph in a 20 zone.

Every state is different but in Texas if you have a CHL you are required to show it to the LEO when you hand him your license.  They will usually ask if you are carrying your weapon.  I've been stopped twice in a cage since I got the CHL.  The first time the officer told me he stopped me because my license plate light was burned out.  The second time was a bogus speed trap but he wrote me up anyhow.  Don't expect any favors just because you carry.  Funny though, in Texas you don't have to show the current registration paper, just license(s) and insurance.

No comment on speeding tickets, but I do have one comment on another type of ticket.  It was a local cop at an intersection.  I had a stop sign.  I approached the intersection slowly for a right turn, taking plenty of time to observe the traffic making sure it was good to go, and effectively stopped for a split second but did not put my feet on the ground.  Then I continued on my turn.  The cop pulled me and was going to write me up for failing to stop -  he was taking that position that in order to stop you need to put your feet down.   When I gave him the credentials, I also gave him my family member PBA (Police Benevolent Association -- the predominant police union in this State).  At that point, he let me go.

Ah, a little professional courtesy there.  Yep, that's why I wear the Junior Ranger badges that I get at national parks clipped to the suspenders of my riding pants.  You never know when you'll need to flash a badge and ask for professional courtesy. :D
