BMW wavy washers

Maybe I just wasn't paying attention before but I found replacement metric wavy washers at Lowe's in the hardware drawers. 4mm and up. Quite a few 5mm thin wavies on the R65 and at only 58 cents for ten, I loaded up on spares. Same thickness, curve and even material color as the last ones I bought, and overpaid for, at A BMW dealership.

Remember the sequel to "Chicken Man"—"The Tooth Fairy?" It was quite edgy for the '60s. The hero's voice was acceptably masculine, but that was about as far as it went. ("Tooth Fairy" and "Chicken Man" were done by the same crew.

My favorites were the sequence of Saturday morning TV cartoon shows that were much too sophisticated for kids alone (though kids loved them, too). I was in college, and there was a meeting every Saturday morning for an hour or two to watch "Bullwinkle," "George of the Jungle," and so forth. My favorite was "Super Chicken"—in fact, I took as my personal motto a line from the lyrics of the theme song: "Ya knew the job was dangerous when ya took it."

I can honestly say that I don't remember that cartoon .

I went into Lowes yesterday, and spent about 30 minutes going through their metric hardware selection, there's a lot of useful items there .

I went looking for some of these wave washers last week.  First Menards (closest), then Ace (because it is Ace!), but nothing.  Finally in desperation I went to Lowes because it appeared the ones I ordered from Matt @ Boxerworks got lost in the mail.  Lowes had some!  But just barely...
I'd sure like to have the inside scoop on when they replenish those bins.


Then I get home, finish installing the clutch (washers needed for), and while I am rooting around for my grease gun nozzle for the swingarm bearings, I get sidetracked with all my little bags of hardware.  I think I counted three separate bags of the [correct sized] wave washers I was hunting all over for.

Next purchase, a small-parts cabinet.

I can spend hours looking through my McMaster-Carr catalog. They are a good supply source if you cannot find a particular widget locally.

I checked the metric wavy washers; McMaster sells the commonly used BMW-sized 5mm in packs of 100 for $7.90 -a veritable lifetime supply for you and a buddy or two- plus several bucks for shipping. Same quantity at Lowes is $5.80 plus sales tax; no shipping or wait.
