In From the Cold

Hello all,

It has been some time since I last logged on......to the old forum.  And now I have finally got my act in gear.

I have still got the red R65 Cafe Racer and it is still being modified/changed.

I was lurking yesterday as a guest and saw that Rob had made a reference to it.  Cheers Rob.

One of these days I will have a more recent picture that I can link to.

New forum looks the bizz.

cheers

Yeah, Steve, I remember you from the "old" R65 forum!  Good to have you back!!  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I remember seeing your bike's photo posted before on the old forum, and loved that red color you have!  By any chance, do you live near Birmingham?  Another R65 owner, Will Hutchins, lives there and posts regularly on this forum and the Moto-Bins forum over in your neck of the woods.  Ever seen him on the road on his blue R65 with an R90S color matched fairing?

Hey, Steve! Sue here! Yup we're still here....still love the R65LS and ended up with an F650GS as well.
Steve was our resident expert on cafe style and if I remember added a lot to our "how do I fix that" section!

Welcome back Steve!!
1983 R65LS - LRB still my favourite!? 1988 Honda NX250, "Toodles Too" and a Suzuki DR650, "Calypso." All stored in the "Brrrmmm Closet".

I hope you can find the time to stop in from time to time, Steve!  Joan even has spurts of activity!  If you search around here enough, you can find a picture of her testimony to her undying love of R65s!

I have met both Joan and Will.

Joan, I met whilst in Seattle for work.  She was having a tech day with her R65, and I just about managed to turn up late in the afternoon, after all the work was done ;)

Had a couple of beers and some cake, if I recall, and even managed to blag a lift back to my hotel.  As well as a ride of a R100 (before the beer).

I have met Will on a 'Gabfest', at Devizes, last year.  His bike was a very nice example of the mark.  Very well kept.  Made me want to go home an polish mine.

Not getting out much on the bikes so far this year.  Been doing a lot of dinghy sailing with my lad.  But its early days yet.  The bike has been readied and I am using it a couple of times a week.

Cheers

Steve

Thanks for sending me the more recent photo of your bike, Steve!  You've done an excellent job of producing a correct version of the cafe racer, in my humble opinion.  I'll bet it runs like a scalded dog!  If it was my bike, I'd be out on it every day riding the living Hell out of it!!

Well done! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
