Back in 1978 or so I sold my '69 Karmann Ghia to buy a 1973 MGB. I regret that move to this day. Anyhow, the day I picked up the MG, I was about 5 minutes from home and noticed the temp gauge was sorta high. Not knowing what was common for the car, I continued home. Upon arrival, I had steam and a mess. The radiator had come loose from its mounts and the fan had dug in to it thus destroying the radiator and the fan. Next day I was under the hood. I replaced mine with a plastic one as well.
