Chat Room?

I've been looking over some of the add-on modules for this version of YaBB and noticed there is a chat-room add-on.  When installed it would be launched by a tab just to the right of the "Birthday List" tab. 

If there is any interest I will look into it.  The last attempt didn't work out very well as it was separate from the forum and you were linked to it.  For the several months I had it installed I think I only found one person in there!

I think the world wide nature of this group and the ensuing time zone differences means that a chat room is unlikely to be of use to more than a small number of users at any one time, eg all the East Coast Australian members could, if they wanted to and had something to discuss, meet at a specified time. - problem is that would be the middle of the night or  some other inconvenient time in the rest of the world.


But, having said that, if we don't try it, we will never know.

On the west coast of the USA I'm up before you go to bed for the evening, plus some of us keep some weird hours, it could work out.

You can try adding the chat room feature and see how much it gets used .

I never new there was a chat room available in the past !!!

I "installed" on and let it tun for several months and nobody ever used it.   I never reinstalled it after a forum SW update and nobody complained so I let sleeping dogs lie...

Add-ons take a bit of time to install and configure as everything is manually copying files, setting file permissions, editing config files, etc.  Remember, this stuff runs on LINUX, not Winders!
