Dan,
Thanks for the positive comments on my old bike.
Just remember, these Cafe Racers evolve.
The project can give you many years of enjoyment.
Try just getting the basics there first and don't spend too much money on bling and fancy paint jobs. Ride it a while and plan your next modification.
Try not to make the mistake of having a 'hanger queen' that empties your pockets and then does not quite hit the mark.
Initially its just a chucking away excercise really, as the basic bike is pretty much there and sound!
I did mine initially in the winter of 2001/2002. I am now considering to change the look slightly and refresh it and finally rid myself of a couple of niggles with the finish. But I will get this summer out of it first.
Going to make some slight changes to the rear, repaint frame and tank(might brush paint it myself) and fix the drive shaft spring - which is a little slack. And I also might go for the full Trailtech instrument cluster, modify the seat and get it covered in suede.
Got to start a list.

If you have any questions for me, put them up and I will try and answer them for you and anyone else who is interested.
