SueCanada has arrived back home
« on: September 19, 2010, 08:35:06 AM »
To all my dear friends on this forum I'd like to say I am home and well. No huge mishaps, no one took a run at me and the wee Bonnie has become a true schizo-bike in that it is a fine tourer as well as a great looking S-faired fun bike for the home territory. The Micatech hardcases were pure joy to pack the gear and the NC Streetshield got a fix that keeps it firmly in place. ( We drilled right through the shield and the bottom struts now protrude through the shield and are held there with tiny lynch? pins... steel clips that are like a cotter pin with bends on just one side to capture the ball end on the strut. I may get some plastic caps that may do the same job and look more finished..

To summarize the time away, I left July 25th for the RA in Pownal VT and then to Hillsboro, NH to get the Micatech bags mounted. Visited Nhmaf in Barnstead on route home. I was home for 3 days and left for our cottage anniversary party on Aug. 13th and carried on riding down to Cape Breton, NS withe Derek in the van and my brother on his K75C. Just got back Friday, the 17th Sept. 5,624 miles since June 1st. We travelled through VT and NH and Maine both coming and going on the trip to Cape Breton as it is just so beautiful and such fun roads.

Derek left CB before me as I wanted to join brother Rich at what is called the Tantramar Toy Run in Dorchester NB. Not only is the ride designed to raise funds and receive toys for kids but they also include a ride to the Dorchester Prison where we show our bikes to the minimum prisons there. Not the maximum guys!!! It rained so the number of bikes was down unfortunately. I left Dorchester for home and brother Rich rode back home to CB. Riding alone was very freeing and I had a great time. Even met a couple from Liverpool England who were just one week into a ride on Aprilia's to Terra del Fuego!! Good times at the motels!!  Shopped at the Whitehorse press Motorcycle Gear warehouse in Conway, NH and bought some "necessary" items! Got Larry Grodsky's 'Stayin' Safe book for one and 'Lois on the Loose' books.

I caught up to Derek in Kemptville at mutual friends where we used to live and rode home on the one sunny day it seems in a long while!!!

So alive and well and eager to get things away and sorted and be part of the forum again!!!

Wow, Sue!  You are one lucky duck!!  Sounds like you had a "trip of a lifetime" this past summer!  I've been about nuts from cabin fever since "my unfortunate accident" back in May and haven't even sat on a bike since.  What I wouldn't give to be able to take a trip like that, or even a simple day trip at this point!  Oh well, maybe next spring, if the knee mends up OK.

Glad to hear you got back safe and sound!   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]  Got any pics to share?

Thanks! Boy, I wish I was a fairy godmother who could just whisk my wand over John and he'd be all better and the accident never happened...sigh.  Let's think about next summer and the BMW National in Pennsylvania!!

Sue!  Yay for you!  Sounds like you had a great summer riding around.  So glad to see you on the forum again.

Isn't it great meeting other riders on the road?  That couple from Liverpool are on quite an adventure, for sure.

And I totally agree with you about John.   We'll just all focus healing energy toward John and the docs will be amazed at how fast he is healing.   ;)

Cheers, all!!   [smiley=beerchug.gif]

Haven't unloaded the camera yet. Not too many pics but some I hope to post.
Heal John, heal.
