Cool Beemer at the bike show!
« on: January 15, 2010, 10:46:14 AM »
My buddy NC Steve and I went to the Cycle World Int'l Motorcycle Show in Greenville this past weekend, and got a good dose of bikes and bike accessories.  However, for some reason, I kept forgetting to take my damn camera out of my pocket to take any pics!  At the Cycle World Booth, I did find this really cool custom BMW that did jolt me enough to get my little camera out to take a couple of photos.  I think the sign said it was an R80 that was "customized" (I think I remember seeing it in a recent issue of Cycle World magazine).

I should've taken more pics!  But it IS a sweet looking Beemer!   [smiley=bmw_smiley.gif]

why there are Japanese front calipers

I think they came with the fork.

Besides, they are radially mounted, and if you have the money for the latest fads (latest being 3+ years old) they are the trick stuff to have.  Makes your riding buddies (ahem) green with envy.

The pictured BMW mod-rod was featured a few months ago in either Cycle World or Motorcyclist; I forget.

Anyway, the builder/s had the above custom and another sorta less radical BMW featured. Remarkable workmanship on both. These scoots are more often impressions of the artist rather than frequent riders. Some may call them trailer queens but like 'em or not, they truly are idea starters for many owners.

The builders mentioned that the "other" bike had been sold and was on a lift being prepped by said builders when it... FELL OFF! Delivery -and probably the buyer's check- was delayed.
