I still dream like a kid,
and I still get it out in the same way: drawing.

I just wanted to share my ideas and get some input on other possibilities to make these modifications possible-

(i don't always think of the easiest thing first.)

I usually ride alone; mostly trekking along railroad beds, fire roads, power lines when they're not too intense. Ground clearance is an issue. This past year I've really gotten to know so much more about bikes, bike forums, engines, the R65, and I had a great time riding last summer. I'm well on my way to realizing I still don't really know anything :D .

project:
I'd like to put some gaiters on..easy. I intend on placing a folding-fishing pole holster. between the right hand triples. I was thinking forks > top/bot. rubber buffer > top/bot. hose clamp which holds > offset arm connected to holster.

the bolt-on sub-frame is something I intend on spending more time thinking about before fruition. I'd like to be able to convert back to stock subframe, but I am thinking welding two ears ~6" below the orig. sub frame ears for a secondary sub frame would make me real happy.

The rack is cute- middle section would be wood covered by stainless. I'll salvage a sink. Beneath it are angle brackets which hold the wood slat arms at 90deg. for travel. lockable to the angle bracket I'm thinking.. the hinges have to be heavy enough to support ~25 pound loads (gear/food). at rest they can be locked in 'lunch' position  :).

I've been really into using springs lately and have been mulling over some locking slides beneath the middle section... set width, press down onto parallel sub frame bars... then pull a line to release...

dreamer.
there's more but I'll leave it for now-

Keep us updated with pictures as you make your changes.

Quite often someone has been there before you, or has seen someone who has.

Good luck
