Stiff Clutch
« on: June 13, 2013, 09:26:06 AM »
I have been struggling with a stiff clutch for a while. I stripped the clutch for a look see at the back end of last year as i was due a spline lube and was sure the plate was ok.
Anyway i decided to replace the cable with a "Featherlight" from Motorworks. verdict......... spot on its like a new un  [smiley=clap.gif].
Despite the old cable when removed feeling "free" clearly that was the issue.
The job is a doddle 15 minutes, here is a step by step guide for those "less" mechanical if you have a similar issue.
screw the cable adjustment back as far as it will go and remove any cable ties or fixings

disconnect the nipple on the clutch lever (use a small jemmy to move the arm forward if needed.

Slide the cable from the gearbox mounting flange

The lever nipple will now slide out and remove the end link.

Re assemble in reverse with the new cable
