dav,
Thank you, your words (and others) are very much appreciated. Ridiculous amount of work on this bike and I have enjoyed every second of it. Wish I had digital pictures of it before I started, I'll have to get the snapshots converted to digital. It started out as a neglected rusty pile from the original owner. I'm so eager to ride this thing, hope to hell it starts and runs well, I've tried to incorporate all the good advice and knowledge from this forum and the Airhead guru's. It's time to put a road worthy patina on the shine!
I'm dialing up final static settings at the moment. I need to replenish fluids, hang the new Keihans, prime the motor and do the much anticipated first start-up and break-in. Then off to the CHP for VIN verification and get the title cleared with AAA/DMV since I neglected to keep the registration current for the past 15 years after purchasing it from the PO. Should have done a non-op filing. Wish me luck, if it doesn't start or self-destructs...I'll never show my face here again.
By the way; total money investment for the complete restoration is in the range of $3500. Adding the labor of love investment...priceless.
Can't thank everyone enough that has helped with this project. Â One of the best forums and groups of enthusiasts I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Hopefully I can return the favor some day to every one of you.
