Black stainless steel exhaust? Options?
« on: August 26, 2025, 05:45:46 PM »
I have an 82 LS and I have both the original black and Staintune SS exhausts for it. I like the look of the black pipes on the bike but the Staintune is in much better shape. Is there a good option for making the pipes black? They are used so full of carbon etc. I like the idea of black chrome or some kind of plating, but I'd rather not have them too shiny (not shiny at all actually). The ceramic coated pipes I've seen did not look all that great but it has been a while. Any ideas are appreciated!

Flat black exhaust paint in a rattle can .
Easy touch up if necessary .

The paint has held up well on my BSA. Stone chipping has been the main problem but as yet I have not reapplied it.
But i don't ride a lot.
