Hello. New Member here. I'd like to say thank you for allowing me to be added to the community. I hope to learn more about my motorcycle and maybe give back some knowledge as it is acquired. A year ago I acquired a 1981 R65. This motorcycle was purchased new in San Diego, CA. by my oldest brother. In 1985, I moved in with my brother and he would let me ride this bike occasionally. In 1992, he moved to upstate NY and got married. In 2011, he died and a few years later his wife sold the bike to her brother in law in New Jersey. Boy, I was devastated that she did not offer it to me! I had since moved to south Florida. Last year she contacted me and told me her brother in law was moving to P.R. and was selling the bike. I called him and a month later, I drove to New Jersey and bought my brothers BMW R65 and towed it back to Florida with a grin, ear to ear. The bike was still as I remember it and in very good condition. Again, Thank you for the add.
