Cal. Az trip
« on: March 26, 2011, 11:40:06 AM »
Left North Idaho Feb 13 with my campervan that I built and dragged a trailer with my R65GS and my bicycle and went to the desert for R&R. 8-)  Well I did'nt get a lot of rest because I was riding most everyday!  I didn't have much time to sit out in the sun!  I met up with fellow Valley rider club members from Canada and rode and camped with them.   :)I spent a month on the road.  I camped on BLM land for free and was hardly anyone else around.  Did some great dirt riding and some road riding.  Managed to get a flat on the highway with a 3/4 in. slash and ended up getting a new tire in Prescot.  :-[ Trouble was it was a higher profile tire and had to cut my bottom crossbar off my centerstand to get the tire to clear!.  I took "Junior" into some real rough stuff that you could hardly walk on and I just gave it the gas and lifted the front end enough to get through it. :D  Next year we are planning a trip into Baja.  I've been there 5 times.  I'll put some pics on here and then try another post wit a vidio.

Sorry it won't accept the vidio.  Not the right format.

Hey !! That looks real familiar, looks like home !!

With the weather getting up in to the 90's F., this week, be aware of the fact that rattlesnakes are coming out of their winter rest .

They can be a bit grumpier than usual this time of year, also the newly born rattlesnakes are much more likely to give you a big shot of venom than a larger snake .

Just a friendly warning !!!

Riding all year long since 1993 .
I'll give up my R65, when they pry my cold dead hands from the handlebars !!!!!

Not to worry, I'm home!   My friends warned me that the snakes come out near the end of March, so I'm done gone!

I'm like Professorfate in that I invent crazy things that sometimes don't work out.  :D In this case I got the bugs worked out of the R65GS. It's all  custom made by me and I got first place in the "Most distracted Airhead " category at the Redmund rally last year in the GS anti concours event.  ;D   Here is the youtube link to the river crossing.     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kk6CQy9ENKg

That bike is so cool.  I'm happy I saw it in person!

I wonder if anybody has bought the R80GS that was in the Airmail....
