Yeah, 1969 was a LONG time ago!
My Dad was from Texas, so we made a few treks down there when I was growing up and visited the border towns, where we got to drink all the Coke we wanted!
He was born in Laredo, and had a close cousin there, so we saw a lot of Nuevo Laredo; also Piedras Negras, as my Uncle lived in another border town, Eagle Pass.
Little kids: "Chicklets! Chicklets!" lol!
I had a step-grandmother who lived in Monterrey, Mexico. That is as far south as we ever got.
