 [smiley=drowning.gif]  I hope nobody drowned.

I like the pictures from when it cleared up though.  Looks like everyone had a great time despite a bit of dampness.   ;)

Lou, I don't know if I mentioned this before, but pick up a book "On The Border with McKenzie" written by Lt. Robert Carter in the 1920's.  He was with the 4th US Cavalry at Fort Concho and Fort Griffith in the early 1870's when the Commanches still roamed the Southern Plains.  A great read full of characters and what the real West was about.

Ugh, that picture looks more like Lewis and Clark wintering in Astoria.

I hope I don't have to deal with that for a couple of more months, anyway.

Very nearly...... despite the poor weather we had a Texas Hold Em Poker night where we raised £650 ($1000) for Help for Heroes a charity supporting our wounded troops hence the "Saloon Girls" and "Cowboys" my missus looks scarily like the Guy off Orange County Choppers no Tattoos though.
Thanks for the tip Mike i have ordered a copy from the Texas Historical Society i look forward to reading it.

My favourite pictures are the night time ones.
But i love the mornings, i am a light sleeper and i lay in my cot listening to the camp come slowly to life, Skeet the camp cook starts chopping firewood at the Chuck wagon at about 6.30am then serves breakfast with a bugle call at about 8 the injuns are friendly too.

If you ever do make it to Texas again we'll make a run to Fort Griffith and Fort Concho.  They have been reconstructed and are now historical sites.  Some pretty good riding that way as well.

Boy, that first photo made me remember what Coyote Ugly is really all about! ;D
