New member, new rider

Hi guys- I'm a new member from San Diego, sayin hello.  I am a new rider and this is my first motorcycle.  Thanks to all for the great information provided in this forum.  I have already gotten tons of questions answered about the R65 and have been inspired to do some light restoring by looking through the progress logs.

I'm not exactly sure how I ended up choosing this as my first motorcycle, but I'm stoked that I did.  I've had a damn good time taking it around the streets so far.  I'm sure I will be coming up with a list of newbie questions as I get more familiar with it.  Please let me know if anyone has any questions about me or the motorcycle.

Welcome and thanks for the photo. With the flat top Bings and what appears to be an ATE brake caliper, I'd say it's a 1979 or '80 model. Looks unmolested, too.

Being in Sandy Eggo, you're near forum member Mike Valenti who owns a magnificent restored R65. He checks in on occasion or you could PM him through this forum and intro yourself. He really knows his Airhead stuff.

When posting tech questions, please do include the model year of your bike. There are a few subtle differences they may effect your answers.
