Whata ya do with the gas cap?
« on: August 09, 2015, 10:31:36 PM »
My other bikes have hinged gas caps. Today on the r65 getting gas put the cap on top of the pump and it rolls off while I'm filling. Lucky no damage but don't want to risk it again. What do you do with your caps?

I don't put it so close to the edge  ;D

I suppose if you folded it back flush you could set it completely upside down and it wouldn't be able to roll at all

I always set mine upside down on the seat or when bags are on in the pocket of the bags.

Mine's a little different since I don't have the stock instruments but installed an Acewell speedo/tach. I just flip the handle down and lay it against the gauge face with the collar between the handlebars and the gauge. Hasn't fallen yet.
Keep your bike in good repair: motorcycle boots are not comfortable for walking.

Me too as the lower part is usually wet with fuel.

What do you do with your caps?

Seriously?  ::)

I'd be more concerned to know if my bike was equipped with the correct fuel tank overflow line to prevent what could be a Fuel-Up Fireball. Has happened to a few unfortunates whom later say, "Didn't know 'bout dat!"

Must fit an overflow pipe. Reading the above reminded me that I ran our of fuel hose before making one.
