Queensland Flooding
« on: January 11, 2011, 05:50:41 PM »
Having just seen the film footage of the terrible flooding in Queensland I just wanted all of our mates in Oz know that hearts and prayers go out to you all that are affected.  If there is a relief agency please post a website where we can make contributions.

Mike - that contributions to aid thing is a good thought - I would also donate if I knew an appropriate place where I knew it would do most good.   We have a thread inthe Chat section with link to some very scary/impressive video..

its amazing that in Australia we currently have flooding across 5 states and fires in 1.

I went through the 1998 Katherine flood which didnt effect anywhere near the same amount of people but gives me an impression of their current hardships. Unfortunately for a lot the biggest battle will be those bloody insurance companies.

Very glad the death toll is low, but my heart goes out to all of the victims.

Donate through the link that Graeme posted above, and beware of the emails that will now come from low life scum pretending to collect for the flood victims. Email scams will eventuate.

Here's a link to a you tube video:-

We have friends just around the corner from where this boat left so we are hoping that they perhaps only had their ground floor flooded.

Another showing the flood extents on the 13th January.
