I had a nice, long visit with unibobber (Jerome) on the phone, this evening.

Sorry if I misspoke...it's Jeremy.  :)
Well, I misspelled it on the package, too.  Sorry about that.   :-[
Nah - I heard Jeremy, I just get confused spelling names, sometimes!

It looks like you must have dropped it just right, to break that off.  Did it hit something?

The lever you will be receiving might be different from what is on there, now.
It has a grease fitting, and the fastener has a groove in it for the grease.
Your current one may have a needle bearing in there.  (I don't know)
I included the foot-peg & hardware, just in case you needed it.  I had to twist the rubber on the shaft 90° to fit it in the flat-rate box, though.  Just so you know.

Thanks Rob.  I did not hit anything that I can see. Louisiana Tstorm+late night+hurried in flip flops=broken parts! Looking forward to getting the part. Weather here is perfect. Fixed the fuel leak with a new needle. Instant success is so gratifying.  Now I must replace the battery. Pulled it and found 2-21-05 inscribed on it. Kinda curious as to what battery makes a good replacement for the Interstate Cycle Tron that was in it. The battery didnt quite fit, but a very good strap was made to hold it in. I may go with the same battery if I can find it locally. Want to get a good one but want to ride this weekend......SOS same ole story!

And no needle bearings. A brass sleeve is pressed in, and the original has no zertz fitting. As long as it aligns....and works....and I can ride, Ill be happy.

Yeah, I believe some here have replaced the brass sleeve with a needle bearing to reduce slop from the sleeve wearing.
That, and the microfiche shows a needle bearing.

I am hoping that since I sent the fastener that is unique to the older ('78-'80) bikes, you should be good to go.

I really like my Odyssey "dry" battery.  There are other AGM-type out there that are cheaper, but mine has lasted at least 5 years, with plenty of abuse (draining completely because I left my heated grips on, sitting around for 2 years with no activity, except a charge when I think I am good to start riding again...).
And you can charge it with a standard auto battery charger.  They really like 10 amps!  That will fry a lead-acid M/C battery quickly!  I don't own a trickle charger.
