I had that same pannier/carrier set-up on my R100 when i bought it.

Sold it to a neighbour for £50 along with the panniers.  He fitted to his old r75/6 and is happy with it.

Its worth money to some.  ebay it.

It'll pay for the headlamp that you need.  On that subject I will say only this:  Get an original, its a quality item that responds well to a more powerful lamp.  Oh - and when its on, in the evening, keep your mouth shut - or you'll be eating all sort of flying critters attracted to the brightness of it! ;)

Looks like a quick polish and you'll be on the road.

Lee Harvey, I don't believe that I've ever seen an R65 with a kick starter before.  That's pretty cool!

Is that a Honda 90 on the back wall?

ya, its a Honda 110 trail bike, and theres 2 of them. got them for free so i cant complain.
the kick start is something the previous owner had put on in Germany. He actually went over to BMW when he lived in Germany and had them do a few "special" things, the kick start was one. i cant remember what the others were.

Lee Harv,  Is that blue color the BMW #501? There may be a paint sticker under the seat on the rear fender. And are those tank pinstripes paint or tape... silver or ? My 501 Mexico Bike is begging for tank stripes. I may have to limber up my sword striper and have at it.

A little time spent with an assortment of cleaning supplies and you'll be looking fresh.

There's an entertaining thread on Adventure Riding by a young fellow that rode a Honda 110 from Sydney to London.
