HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy New Year
It's just turned Midnight in New York, so it's "Happy New Year" there.    8-)

I'm listening to the local Public Radio station and NPR.  They are having some great jazz on there and they will be going to the different time zones for each Midnight.  Right now the band that's on is playing Charlie Mingus tunes.  Great stuff.  I wonder who will be next on the roster?  I'll just have to keep listening.   ;)

I'm staying home where it's nice and quiet.  I don't want to get out on the roads on this night.   I'll leave that to the younger crowd.

Happy New Year to you all.  May it be much better than last year for all of us, with great riding and lots of nice twisty roads.

Another part of the country has just moved into the New Year.  Only 2  hours to go here on the West Coast.   I may be asleep by then, so I might as well enjoy the celebrations in other parts of the country.  Yawwwwwnnn.

I've just been perusing the internet and listening to some great jazz.  As good a way to bring in the New Year as any.

I wanna add my hearty New Year's salutations to my fellow cow lovers, even though I wimped out and didn't even come close to making it to midnight last night..... ::)
I know, I'm a weenie....  But the sentiment remains,

I had a New Year's Eve gig at the local Retirement Village...from 6:00pm till 8:00pm.   ;D  Had a great time subbing for the piano player and Graham even got up and danced with a 90 year old woman that was just itching to dance!  We went and visited with one of the band members until around 10:30 and then went home and built a fire with the purpose of bringing in the New Year... did it happen?  NO....

I think we made it until about 11:45 and then we fell asleep on the sofa.   ::)

Melena, NPR plays some pretty good jazz for New Year's Eve, huh?  I listened one year (had to do it by the internet as I couldn't find it locally) when my brother was on.  He's a jazz pianist, Kevin Bales.  That was a strange feeling, listening 'live' to my brother play from St. Louis.

So to all on the forum, may this year bring the best of everything to you!

Merry New Year from cold Atlanta!

I went to bed early as well (not feeling to well) but made a mental note of midnight to the sound of distant gunfiret!!!  Gotta love southerners!

The "party" was on my couch at home... just my bride and I. We made it to 2230 hrs and figured that was good enough. Tucked my head under my wing and sacked out.

After a full Christmas week with two little grandchildren and their parents, a bit of peace n' quiet sure is nice.

Feliz Ano Nuevo a todos!

TTFN,

LOL, we had that here too.  If I ever splurge for tracers I may join them.  Somebody had a stash of fireworks, too, from the sounds of it.  This sure is a better time of year for that stuff than 7/4.

We actually did stay up, though I at least didn't intend to.  Split a bottle of champagne and went to bed.  :-)
