Bike covers

Since I've already had my cover blown I thought I'd ask.  Anybody like to share their experiences, opinions about them.

My concern is that I want it to stay secure with or without my windshield in use.

I recently bought a MotoCentric cover for my R65. Excellent product and fully waterproof -as it's already been Nature tested.

Read the specs on whatever cover you are considering. Those rated as water resistant are not water proof. Big difference.

With the windshield on the R65, you'll probably need to research covers for "cruisers".

I use a lightweight Oxford Aquatex cover when I park up at work. It folds up small enough to fit in the under seat storage with space left for my lunch which is important for me (the lunch and the cover). The medium size cover fits the bike easily so maybe the large size would cover a screen. I wouldn't recommend it though it if you want a 100% waterproof cover for home use where folded size is not an issue.

As usual, I would like it to have all my specific requirements met in one tiny package.  It should cover the entire bike but remain easily packable down to half a tissue box in size, or thereabouts.  

I want it mostly to keep interest by others in the bike low, lower than it already has.  Its for the if and when I overnight it at inexpensive bedbug ridden motels.

That's a good point and covers do that. I work at a school and cover the bike in case it rains during the day but also so no one will touch it. There is a strap that goes under the bike so it won't blow off and large eyelets at the front to put a lock through the front wheel.  As I said the issue is it's thin nylon and not 100% water proof and has gotten worse over the years in this respect but it still keeps the worst off.

for my R65 and my husbands R75/6. The medium size fits both bikes just fine with windshields on.

Works well, seems to be pretty waterproof. Drawcord at the bottom cinches it down and keeps it on in heavy winds.

They say it packs down to the size of a hand... not mine!! But maybe some really big guys hand. They do pack into their own pocket though. There area  couple of grommets so can bungie in place as well.

I finally got a cover this year.  It is a Dowco brand.

It gets the job done.  They have a number of different ones, for different types of bikes and with or without windshield/fairing.

Barry, I love the way that stows.  I assume you had it out of the box already and didn't just stick it in fresh for the purpose of taken the photo.    I've never been very good at getting my sleeping bag to return to its sack properly and assume I will be similarly challenged.

I also like that their website provides measurements that correspond with the coding of sizes.  Gonna look further into my options.

The cover is 4 or 5 years old and that's how it looks going to work every day. I do tend to just stuff it in loose on the way home then roll it up tidy for the next day. Takes 2 mins unless it's still wet and needs drying out. That's the worst bit. The two black bands didn't come with it. They are just two lengths of elastic material stitched up into loops.

Size large. Unsure if it will fit with a windshield installed.

Well mrm, you might just be the spark I need.  I have put off making a purchase far to long now.  

I appreciate all the suggestions and I'm seriously considering Brother Barry's, he's made a compelling case for that cover, it packs so well.  

Unfortunately I've waited to long and I might be forced to get something that can be delivered within a week, as I am being forced to leave soon.  Push comes to shove and I may end up with my original setup, that being a tarp and a Rube Goldberg of bungees.

Update:  I decided on the montmil mototek.  Free shipping if over $49,   so I added the rain suit.  Too bad my credit card is no longer valid.  I have to wait for a new one.  Such complications...
