Sedalia Rally Follow Up
« on: July 23, 2012, 04:55:29 PM »
Hi Gang,

I'm back from the rally- it was wonderful!  I'm now an official member of the Airheads Beemer Club and had the opportunity to meet one of our group, Ron Sweet who lives near Sedalia.

I'm still in adrenaline rush mode from the trip - as soon as I "come down" I'll write about it and post pictures to share.  There were some very cool Airheads at the rally!

I wish I hadn't had to "burn" all of my vacation in conjunction with my shoulder surgery...  I hope everybody had a good time.

Back home yesterday around 1330 hrs myself.  The state fairgrounds is a really nice venue.  Lots of A/C in the buildings and camping was spread out.  I attended some good airhead seminars and saw quite a few R65's on the grounds.  Good entertainment and cold beer.  Met some new friends and saw some old ones.  All in all, a good time was had by all.  At least I didn't hear of any complaints.  Next year in Salem, OR.

Glad everybody had a good trip.

I'm tempted to stick a roundel on my bicycle's steering stem and ride it to the National next year.  30 miles, max, away.   ;D

Did you guys test ride anything fun???

Someone correct me if I'm mistaken, but I don't believe there were any test rides available.  At least I didn't seen a BMW Motorrad booth/display.  The new dealer in Chatanooga, TN, Pandora, gave away either 11 or 12 new bikes but no free rides.

There were test rides available, but I don't know any of the details.  I met SueCanada, but didn't get to meet anyone else.  Maybe next time.

That's what I get for posting when I've been at work for 12 hours.  This slipped my mind.  Of course I met Ken Tuvman, who gave me some very helpful and appreciated pointers for my bike, a couple of which I've already acted on.  Thanks Ken and sorry I momentarily forgot.
