Has Koni Arisen Like the Phoenix?
« on: June 16, 2009, 04:24:12 PM »
:-? :-?  A catalog arrived in today's post from a tire/custom wheel/suspension-farkle automobile parts house. Glancing through it, I noticed an advertisement for Koni shocks. Has some other business acquired the rights to the Koni name, or has the company itself somehow reorganized and re-emerged? (If so, what about the Aussie company that bought Koni's cycle shock designs and sells the same designs under the "Ikon" name?)

Very curious!

To the best of my knowledge, KONI automotive never went away, they just sold off the motorcycle side of the business a few years ago .

I'll give up my R65, when they pry my cold dead hands from the handlebars !!!!!

Yes KONI has stayed in the automotive business and I plan to put a set on my Abarth Fiat 500 as soon as my Chrysler dealer gets them in.

Thanks for the update. I haven't had a car worth installing Konis since my BMW 2002tii in 1973. I'd have put them on my '66 Bug, but Bilstein gas-filled were easier to find, so I went that direction.
