Handlebar change
« on: June 26, 2007, 04:59:35 PM »
I'm interested in changing the handle bars on my R65 to make it a bit more comfortable for some long trips. I've attached a photo of th current set up but wanted to as for any advice on changing to something a bit more "upright" rather then the euro or cafe style that are presently on it. I don't think these are really cafe but low enough to make me lean forward a bit. I'd also like to change the windshield to something larger for wet and cold weather touring. All help is appreciated!! I may have to post a better pic if this is not clear enough...

heck i would bet there are at least two or three people here that would trade you thier handlebars for your low euro bars. i have a set of standard US bars that i took off mine that you can have if you pay shipping.

Well thanks for the offer Jon...where are you located? I can give you a UPS shipping number to use if that's OK. Please let me know how you'd like to do this.

I sniped a set of BMW bars with 12" pullback last year from ebay.  Every know and then they turn up.  I would also try a motorcycle junk yard.  Just be sure they arn't bent....

Nice looking bike.   :D

Yea, I could take those low bars off your hands. I posted a topic a few weeks ago on that kind of thing but opposite and this is the first i've come across an oppurtunity like this. I have the "US bars" and would gladly trade or if you got them from someone else we could work something out.
