This is a thread that could be kept o the Wiki site - it's really something worth having saved to refer back to.

In my case, I sent my busted gearbox to Matthew Parkhouse who writes the "Keep 'em Flying" column for BMW ON Magazine - she feels like butter when running through the gears!

Tranny work is WAY beyond my skill set!

Was wondering if Matt was keeping his hand in. Last I heard, he had taken a full-time gig at Fort Carson, just south of the Springs. Very knowledgeable Airhead, he is.

The latest BMW ON magazine has a whole tech-day article by him (Matt) that was held in Kansas back in December - all they did was repair/rebuild airhead gearboxes - that would have been an incredible learning experience, IMHO..
