Hi Luke, you have already received some great replies, but I have posted two photos of the front my 1983 R65LS showing the "Headlight Panel" which must add some rigidity to the forks and serves as a support/mounting piece for headlight, instruments, Front brake lines, clutch cable,turn signals, and a major route for the wire harness serving the front electrics including your charging and ignition system. In the picture with the headlight you can sort of see the remaining piece of my dash panel that remained on the instruments. My dash had the turn signal indicator lights set into it.
