Front Fork Braces

Do any of you have any experience with aftermarket fork braces? Do they improve handling? I'm not sure that handling needs improvement? Thanks D2

The upper and lower triple tree/clamps on the R65 don't really need any help, they were the first of the BMW bikes of the time, to have a 'beefier' design that the larger bikes went to a few years later .

I had my front guard off today to fit a rubber mud flap which hopefully will keep the front engine cover and exhaust cross tube a bit cleaner this winter.

I was reminded that we already have a reasonably stiff fork brace in the metal reinforced mud guard.

Saw a number of early Airheads at the recent Luckenbach Harvest Classic. The flat steel plate upper triple clamp looks so weak when compared to the cast and machined aluminum chunk on our R65s.

Many of the "plate" BMWs had fork braces added. On the R65, a fork brace can create unwanted fork stiction. Unneeded and an unnecessary expense.
