Brembo brake pad replacement

Hey gang,

Still exploring the wonderful world of brakes.  Just wondering how folks gauge brake pads and when you need to replace them.  Front brake pads that is, and I have Brembo calipers.

Boy, hope I haven't stumbled into another rant section worth thread by mistake...  ;D

There should be a plastic cap over the pads, it snaps on, remove it and there should be a groove visible in the friction material, if you still see a groove, they are good, if you don't they need replacement .

You could also remove the pads and inspect them off of the bike, your call .

Milo,

Maybe the attached story will help explain how brakes work.  I learned a lot writing this story and interviewing the owner of Spiegler Performance.
