Rear wheel brake drag

I was cleaning my 82 LS yesterday after a day of riding and noticed a slight brake drag while cleaning the rear wheel. The bike was on the center stand and as I turned the wheel to clean it, I hit a spot that I could feel the brake shoe drag. Not much but it was there. It is almost as if there is a high spot on the drum of it is out of round. I don't notice any unusual vibration when riding and no unusual feeling when using the rear brake. Any ideas or suggestions?

Have you removed the rear wheel for a visual inspection?

Check for uneven wear on the shoes - high spots that may look 'shiny'. Some misalignment of the shoes and the hardware?

Drum could be worn out of round but that's a stretch, depending on number of miles on the drum.

Are you sure it's brake drag ? Did it go away when you backed off the adjuster a few turns.

Washed mine yesterday and as always noticed when turning the rear wheel there is a quite a lot of  transmission drag from the cold oil.

I am pretty sure it is brake drag. If I back the adjuster off it goes away. I haven't taken the wheel off yet to see what it looks like inside but just had it off about two months ago to have a new tire mounted and everything looked fine at that time. It is only about 1/5 of the rotation that seems to drag and even them it is not enough to stop the wheel if I spin it. It was just evident when turning the wheel by hand. I guess I will just keep an eye on it and see if it looks like it is getting worse.
