Help with R65 Diode and Alternator wiring
« on: January 08, 2010, 12:42:08 AM »
Hi all

Replaced a timing chain,  and then ended up pulling the whole bike apart, main rear seal, new clutch good clean etc. BUT  I now stupidly am a bit lost with replacing the wiring from the diode to the alternator,  Wrote it down and lost my note!  The plug for the three wires to the back of the diode can go both ways.  Any help appreciated as to which way the red green black/white wire go at the back of the diode and at the alternator.   Thanks in advance for any assistance   Brian

The new board has the three "S" (stader) terminals on the front that connect to the three terminals on the stader.(black wires) Connect in any order. The "Y" connector used on later systems is at the bottom. (black wire) The two "B+" (battery) connections are at the side. The large one is always used. (red wire) The rear of the new board has two "D+" terminals, either of which may be used.(blue wire) There is also a new "G" (ground) terminal that may be used with the heavy duty ground harness.
