Which workshop manual?

I'm just about to buy a workshop manual for my R65LS, has anyone any reccomendation as to the best one please?

They all have their shortcomings. Haynes reportedly has some errors, Cylmer has been said to be less complete. The BMW factory manuals assume some BMW technical training. I have no preference but do own a Haynes. With that and assorted technical web articles and of course this vibrant forum I have not gone wanting for information.

I have accumulated 100's of documents from the wealth of information on the internet but a manual is still a useful reference. I have a Haynes bought for very little off ebay.

Im sure you will get by with a Haynes, the Clymer is more in depth in some areas and more expensive but there are errors in both particularly in wiring diagrams i found neither were correct for my bike.
I have my own Haynes and a pal of mine has the Clymer ,if you need to cross reference anything i could get you access to either one.

Sounds like good advice,  I'll keep looking on ebay for a Clymer at the right price.

You might check Amazon as well.  I picked up a like-new used Clymer manual for about 1/2 the price of a new one.  [smiley=bmw_smiley.gif]

The Factory manual has been a great help to me.  I think you can still find it through a BMW parts supplier.  Not sure about your year & type, but worth a try.

Don't know if it will help you or not, but here's the part number off of the BMW shop manual that I have,  01 51 9 789 092 .

It's a three ring binder type manual .
