Spent the day working on the bikes.....  Decided that it was time to bleed brakes.  Ugh.

I had picked up a couple of Speedbleeder fittings, including ones for the R45 and the R80. (All the R models up to 1996 use the same fitting)  Little bit of fluid leakage when I removed the stock fitting and installed the SB fitting.  Then I attached the rubber hose, and in less than 5 minutes (start to finish) the front brakes were done.  And I could do this by myself.  Fitting has a ball valve on it so no more having to have someone pump the handle while you work the wrench on the fitting.  I just stood there and pumped the handle and made sure the tank never got empty.  

I managed to bleed the brakes on six bikes today.... yipee!!!!!!

Nice idea, DeeG.   Do you have a Mity-Vac? Useful to push fluid through brake lines, among other good things.

I made this pressure bleeder to handle brake chores on my old Cabriolet. Once pressurized and attached to the brake fluid reservoir, you simply crack open each bleeder valve and watch for fresh fluid to flow. Very little mess and no pedal pumpin'. Being the cheap bastid I is, built the bleeder for less than $15.00.

I may see if I can adapt it to the BMWs. Thanks for the tip.     -Monte

We have a MityVac, but I'm not sure it works anymore.  Spouse has had it for about 20-some years.  It felt like I was just pushing air back into the lines....... Going to have to search for directions, maybe I'm just not doing it right.
