Paint for headlight bucket ?
« on: May 11, 2022, 02:22:13 AM »
Hi all
So I’m getting into my resto on my R65LS (more a refresh) and it’s fairing-less so I want the headlight bucket to be nicer. It seems to have a texture to it.
What’s best to use on it ? BBQ paint maybe ??
Thanks
Sean

I think a semi-gloss crinkle black or just satin black would look nice.

SEM Landau Black is what I used.  I didn't sand the bucket smooth just scuffed it with a scotch bright pad to preserve the texture.

I used a Rustoleum bed liner paint on my GL1000 gauge pod with excellent results. I know the texture your looking for as I have an 80 r65. The trick with using it is multiple light coats and a distance of 10 inches or so when spraying. It came out perfect. Hope that helps...
