I've been to this rally before in previous years. It has grown in popularity as you can see by the crowd. I have always heard about it by word of mouth, so I can't say if there is a published site that announces the date in advance.
My bike is the blue one. The setup is stock with some add on accessories. the windscreen and tank bag are by GIVI, I picked them up at the Mid-Ohio Vintage Motorcycle Days swap meet about 5 years ago. I can't say if they still market that particular style windscreen, but the shape of mine does fit the profile of the bike very well and saves on fatigue when riding distance. The hand guards are a BMW product, designed for the R80 GS. I think I read on this site that someone found by chance that they would fit the R65. Well, they do, and though it isn't the same as heated grips, on chilly mornings they do cut down on the windchill at your knuckles. That is a tool kit on the front forks. It is a Tourmaster, held on with straps. I carry the BMW kit in there (radically embellished,) along with some useful spares. Some guys rag on me for looking to "Harley" but hell, if you are going to ride any distance, my vote is to be prepared as best you can.
What you don't see are the crash bars. I took them off so I could get the valve covers off and set the clearances, and haven't gotten them back on again.
